DESCRIPTION:Dear parents/Carers \n\n\n\nWe are delighted to invite you to take part in our upcoming Easter celebrations at school! \n\n\n\nOn Tuesday 31st March\, we will be holding our annual Easter Bonnet Parade for all children in Early Years and Key Stage One\, where children are encouraged to create and wear their own decorated Easter bonnets. We look forward to seeing lots of creative designs! \n\n\n\nIn addition\, we will be running a Decorated Boiled Egg Competition for children in Key Stage Two. Children can bring in a hard-boiled egg that they have decorated at home. There will be prizes for creativity and originality\, so we encourage everyone to get involved. \n\n\n\nTo make the day even more exciting\, the children will also take part in an Easter Egg Hunt during their outdoor learning session.  \n\n\n\nPlease ensure that: \n\n\n\n\nBonnets and decorated eggs are brought into school on Tuesday 31st March. \n\n\n\nEggs are clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.\n\n\n\n\nWe hope this will be a fun and memorable experience for all the children. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to let you know that we will be celebrating Literacy Week at Delamere during the week beginning 2nd March\, alongside World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. \n\n\n\nLiteracy Week is a chance for pupils across the school to enjoy stories\, books and reading in ways that are meaningful\, accessible and enjoyable for them. Throughout the week\, pupils will take part in a range of activities including shared stories\, sensory storytelling\, creative responses to books\, and opportunities to talk about or explore their favourite stories in ways that suit their individual needs. \n\n\n\nWorld Book Day – Dress-Up Day \n\n\n\nAs part of Literacy Week\, pupils are invited to take part in World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. \n\n\n\nTo make this inclusive and low-pressure\, dressing up is completely optional and can be very simple. \n\n\n\nIdeas include: \n\n\n\n· Wearing a hat\, badge or prop linked to a favourite book or character \n\n\n\n· Wearing colours linked to a story \n\n\n\n· Dressing as a favourite character\, if your child would enjoy this \n\n\n\n· Wearing pyjamas for a cosy “bedtime story” theme \n\n\n\n· Please do not feel under any pressure to buy or make costumes – simple is perfect. \n\n\n\nParent Volunteers – Reading in Class \n\n\n\nWe would love to involve parents and carers during Literacy Week. If you are available and would like to come into school to read a story to your child’s class at any point during the week\, we would be very grateful. \n\n\n\nThis could be: \n\n\n\nReading a favourite children’s book \n\n\n\nSharing a short story or picture book \n\n\n\nReading alongside pupils or with staff support \n\n\n\nIf you would like to volunteer\, please let your child’s class teacher know or contact the school office by Thursday 12th February\, with an idea of day and time that works best for you during literacy week. We will then arrange suitable times and provide any support needed. \n\n\n\nReading at Home \n\n\n\nWe also encourage you to share stories at home during the week. This might be reading a book together\, looking at pictures\, listening to an audiobook\, or talking about a favourite story. Any reading\, in any form\, is valuable and appreciated. \n\n\n\nThank you for your continued support.
