Butterfly have really enjoyed our ‘Mirrors and Massage’ sessions every Thursday morning. Not only do we love the relaxation and the textures, we are using this session to build relationships with peers and make choices and express our likes and dislikes using our preferred methods of communication. We always get so much out of this session in terms of our wellbeing and progressing our communication skills.
For our last community visit, some of the Butterflies went on the school bus to find the best Christmas decorations. They loved finding Father Christmas, snowmen and the Nutcracker, as well as admiring the beautiful lights. As you can see, the children had a great time, and as well as enjoying the sensory aspect, displayed some excellent communication and interactions with their peers.
The children in Butterfly class love Thursday soft play sessions. We develop our physical skills such as balancing, rolling, jumping and climbing. We develop our mathematical skills, exploring shapes, building towers and recognising the properties of different objects. Not to mention building relationships, developing communication and having lots of fun!
The theme for Art week is ‘the secret garden’! So, as part of our communication in the community, some Butterflies decided to visit a real life secret garden! Look how much we enjoyed ourselves!
Butterfly students visited Strawberry Fox Cafe to practice our communication skills in the community. We met the lovely staff who looked after us very well. We chose what we wanted from the cafe and paid for our snacks and juice in exchange. We had such a lovely time and will hopefully visit again in the not too distant future.
What a fantastic week in Butterfly Class! 🦋Our little learners have returned with so much enthusiasm and energy. We’re also thrilled to welcome two new members to our Delamere family—both have settled in beautifully!
The children have already dived into a variety of fun activities, from sensory stories and music to art, cooking, and exploring our Autumn topic, Our Bodies.
Well done, Butterflies, on a super start to your Reception journey! 🌟👏
