Hi there My name is Philippa, I am the new chair for friends of Delamere. I joined the PTA back in the Summer of 2023, my Daughter is in the Fox class and is enjoying going to this amazing school.

My background is that I am Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology where I have been working for 15 years, I work part time two days a week. So I am happy to help working with the PTA, I am I grateful to have the opportunity to have an involvement in my Daughters school.

Since becoming Chair I have enjoyed working with the PTA over last term where we had a Christmas event, this raised enough money to fund the I.T wish which Sally the Headteacher put forward to give the Delamere students to help in their education.

I am looking forward to what we can achieve in the future as a PTA, and we have amazing members who are enthusiastic with great ideas.

We are currently organising our next event which will be in Easter, so watch this space! We are also having drop in sessions last Tuesday of every month called ‘Chatty Tuesdays’ this is a great opportunity for parents, carers and other family members to meet each other. These sessions may help bring our community together and can be a lovely way to meet new people.

Looking forward to seeing you all at some point.

Philippa x

The Friends of Delamere offers support to parents/carers and raises funds for school. We are reliant on volunteers to put on any events, the more people available to help the more we can do!

“Most recently we contributed £4,500 towards the Oily Cart theatre experience that took place in the first week after the October half term. Oily Cart is a fantastic charity that creates and shares sensory theatre for disabled and non-disabled children and young people, developing new ways of existing together that can work for everyone. For some of our pupils, an Oily Cart show will be the only theatre they experience in their lives.

We also paid £750 towards the mobile farm visit from All day’s Farm, who offer bespoke services tailored to the individual needs of their customers, and provide excellent experiences for children and adults that inspire and motivate them.

This year we continue to raise funds for maintenance of the school fish tank; as well as the Year 6 Campout, replenishing the library, and technology resources to support communication and mental health / emotional wellbeing.

During the recent Christmas period we managed to raise over £2,000 through various fundraising activities that took place throughout the community.”

Ideas for your own campaign can be for anything such as a special occasion, an event you are taking part in, remembering a loved one, a Marathon run, a bake sale the list of ideas to raise funds is endless…..

We also take part in Your School Lottery, it is £1 a ticket every week, and every Saturday night the draw takes place. Our community is guaranteed a winner from every draw (winning roughly £20-£30 depending on how many players there were that week). This has been a fundraising lifeline for us in the past few years whilst face to face events have been troublesome.
