Children Who Attend Delamere School

May Autism: After Diagnosis For parents/carers with children who have recently been diagnosed with Autism
June/July Moving On: Transition to High School For parents/carers of children in Year 5
July Transition Meeting For parents/carers of children joining the school in September
July Leavers Afternoon Tea For children in Year 6 and their parents/carers

Bespoke training is also created and delivered throughout the year.  For example, e-safety, Reading for Pleasure and Seating. 

Information about training and support sessions will be sent through Parent mail.

Delamere Run Parent Course – Autism: After Diagnosis.

A 3 session course, held over 3 weeks to offer a safe space for parent/carers to express emotions and feelings post diagnosis. To offer practical ideas and adaptions to support living with a child with Autism.

Feedback from the first course was very positive with comments including:

“Very informational. I am much relieved to know and see parents who share the same or

similar feelings / problems. I called a parent last week and had a chat with her.

This is a result of this training”.

Moving On: Transition to High school.

A 5 week course for parent/carers of children in year 5. Everything you need to know about your child’s move to high school. This workshop runs in the summer term.

Delamere: Let’s get started. 

A 12 week group for parent/cares new to Delamere school.  An informal opportunity for parents to meet other parents, chat through subjects including sleep, EHCP’s communication, eating, getting out and about and health.  Special Guests include school nurse, Learning Disability Nursing Team and the SEND local officer.

Healthy Young Minds and The Children’s Learning Disability Nursing Team

Healthy Young Minds will be facilitating a Riding the Rapids course, which may be of interest to you.

Riding the Rapids is an evidence-based parent-training course. It is designed for parents and carers of children and young people with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis or other complex needs, including severe learning disabilities.
